The Elemental Witch, now reduced to just a witch's hat without any memories, had been trapped in the ruins for centuries. Her fate changed when she encountered Kailey, leading to her gaining freedom while Kailey discovered her greatest desire. However, this desire came at a cost, as a second soul takes over the girl's body. After the Green Wolf leader Dahdin sacrifices himself, Aleshia, the second soul, struggles to determine whether the sorrow and unease she feels are her own emotions or if they are feelings seeping from Kailey, the original host. During the days of travel that follow, Aleshia finds brief relief when she discovers a river and decides to take a rest stop. In the meantime, Lucia focuses on catching fish. Their next adventure begins when they encounter a human adventurer. They silently follow him into the city of Darendale, marking the next phase of their journey.
